Taken 2, sequel of the original in 2009 and once again starring Liam Neeson, blew the competitive box office records by gaining a $50 million debut. The movie earned such huge revenue in the first week itself, setting yet another benchmark for the upcoming movies along with continuing the success of its first part. Apart from the native markets, Taken 2 also gained appreciations from 50 international markets, thus contributing another $55 million to the movie's revenue. Going back to 2009, the movie surprised everyone by hitting the box office with opening revenue of around $33 million.
