Joaquin Phoenix: Heading To Rehab?!

Joaquin Phoenix announced that he is retiring from acting to concentrate on his music career.  

At first, I was upset.  I believe Phoenix is an outstanding actor.  He is a serious talent and has been given such a gift.  I couldn’t believe he was just going to give it all up and work on music.  I don’t want to hear his music; I want to see him in movies!!  Then, I realized he must be on drugs! 

Joaquin Phoenix showed up at a tribute to Paul Newman looking a little out of it.  He also had the letters “Bye!” and “Good” written on his knuckles.  According to Page Six:

The two-time Oscar nominee (”Walk the Line” and “Gladiator”) showed up to a tribute to Paul Newman last week in San Francisco and “was out of it,” said one attendee. Other actors were performing scenes and readings, but Phoenix just got up and walked out. “He wobbled back in a bit later, but it was odd,” said our source. “He was slurring his words and was unsteady on his feet.”

His rep tried to do some damage control by saying, “He’s fine. He just wants to focus on music.”

Joaquin better get his life together.  We do not want to see him turn out like his brother, River Phoenix.  He needs to hit up rehab ASAP!

Eva Mendes Gets Fully Nude for Upcoming Film!

Eva Mendes, for the first time on film, gets fully naked in her upcoming film, ‘We Own the Night.’ Mendes said:

“I trusted him. I trusted everybody on this and I just went for it.”

“The sex scene with Joaquin really wasn’t as good as it looked — these were nerve-racking scenes that are very technical and really scary,” Mendes said. “It was nothing to do with him, he is beautiful, but when you are exposing yourself emotionally and physically that’s so frightening … you have so many people around and the camera and it’s so scary.”

From the trailer, I think this is going to be a great movie! It stars Eva Mendes, Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg, and Robert Duvall. It HAS to be a good movie…..it got a standing ovation at The Cannes Film Festival. Not too many movies get that…..unless they were just all applauding for Eva!!
