Bernie MAc

By now I am sure you have all heard about the death of Bernie Mac.  I was completely shocked by the news.  He was only 50.

Bernie Mac passed away Saturday morning after being in the hospital for awhile with pneumonia.  Although his rep talked about him recovering while he was in the hospital, Bernie was unable to fight off infection.  His rep issued the following statement:

“[He] passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital. No other details are available at this time. We ask that his family’s privacy continues to be respected.”

Apparently, Bernie Mac’s condition was much more serious than anyone let on.  Bernie was in the ICU for awhile.  Bernie was admitted to the hospital July 24, and he was put on a ventilator as soon as he got there.  While in the hospital, Bernie contracted a second strain of pneumonia.  Even though Bernie had chronic sarcoidosis, that was apparently not what he died from.  It weakened his immune system so he was unable to fight off the pneumonia.

Knowing what you can actually get from being in a hospital, I wonder how people even get out of there alive.  You would think hospitals are clean and bacteria free places where you can get well.  They are FAR from that!  Hospitals are where you actually pick up more germs and diseases.

The late comedian, Bernie Mac, is survived by his wife and daughter.  Bernie was an outstanding comedian and actor.  He accomplished so much.  The world has lost another great comedian.
