George Carlin, a legendary comedian, has passed away at the age of 71. Carlin died yesterday around 6:00 p.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica. He was admitted earlier in the afternoon for chest pains and reportedly died from heart failure.
Carlin, known best for his “Filthy Words” routine, was also a very gentle and considerate man. The battle of those seven “filthy words” went all the way to the Supreme Court. Carlin fought hard over the censorship on the airwaves.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and fans. He will be missed greatly and never forgotten.
R.I.P. George Carlin
